Scott T. Tagawa
A cancer doctor at Weill Cornell in New York who has spent two decades testing PSMA-targeted radioactive treatments for prostate cancer, from the first antibody versions through to lutetium-177 PSMA-617.
Overview
Scott Tagawa is a genitourinary medical oncologist who has run early-phase trials of PSMA-targeted radioimmunotherapy since the 2000s, starting with the antibody 177Lu-J591 and continuing through the VISION trial of 177Lu-PSMA-617 (lutetium-177 vipivotide tetraxetan), where he was a co-investigator and author on subsequent safety and PSA-kinetics analyses. He is also a lead investigator on Trop-2-directed antibody-drug conjugate trials (TROPHY-U-01, TROPiCS-04) in urothelial cancer, giving him a cross-cutting view of radioligand and ADC approaches to genitourinary disease.
At Weill Cornell he directs the Genitourinary Oncology Program and the GU Oncology Research Program, and is the institution's principal investigator for the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology. His group's early J591 dosimetry and fractionation studies helped establish the dose-response relationship for PSMA-targeted radioligand therapy that later informed 177Lu-PSMA-617 dosing.
