How the ideas are found

Each lens is a rule run over the rows above. A lens that finds nothing shows zero rather than loosening its rule.

  • Unmet need cluster450Many published statements of an unmet need or limitation about the same target, indication or theme.
  • Needs outrun trials26An indication with many published unmet needs and comparatively few radiopharmaceutical trials.
  • Therapy without imaging12Radiopharmaceutical therapy trials against a target, with no imaging agent for that target in the same indication.
  • Imaging without therapy50Imaging trials against a target, with no radiopharmaceutical therapy against it in the same indication.
  • Indication expansion24A target treated with radionuclides elsewhere, with papers in this indication but no trial here.
  • Literature rising, no trials69Papers on the target (and indication) grew at least 1.5x from 2019-2022 to 2023-2026, with at most one trial.
  • Congress signal69Five or more 2025-2026 congress abstracts, with at most one registered trial.
  • First in human74First-in-human reports since 2024, grouped by target.
  • New agent named86A labelled agent name first seen in 2025 or later in papers or congress abstracts.
  • Isotope never trialled125A next-generation isotope paired with a target in papers and abstracts but in no registered trial.
  • ADC-validated target9A target with antibody-drug conjugate trials and few or no radiopharmaceutical trials.
  • Patent momentum20Patent publications on the target rising since 2023, with few trials.
  • Approved abroad, not in US58An agent with active registrations outside the US and no Drugs@FDA registration: an in-licensing candidate.
  • Only in China7Clinical programmes against a target registered only at Chinese sites.
  • Academic sponsors only9Five or more trials against a target, none sponsored by industry: a licensing opportunity.
  • Stopped for business reasons141A trial terminated, withdrawn or suspended for funding, strategy or business reasons rather than safety or efficacy.

Sources and limits

  • Products: FDA (openFDA Drugs@FDA), EMA, Health Canada, Swissmedic and public regulator lists or announcements for Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, India, Australia, the UK, Ireland, Latin America, Russia, the Middle East and South-East Asia. New Zealand's Medsafe lists no radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Trials: ClinicalTrials.gov and EU CTIS. The WHO registry portal and the Chinese and Japanese registries do not allow automated access, so their trials appear here only when also registered on ClinicalTrials.gov.
  • Papers: Europe PMC, which includes PubMed, plus every article of 42 nuclear medicine journals.
  • Congress abstracts: SNMMI (Journal of Nuclear Medicine supplements), EANM (EJNMMI supplements), ASNC (Journal of Nuclear Cardiology supplements) and WMIC (Molecular Imaging and Biology supplements). From ASCO (Journal of Clinical Oncology supplements), AACR (Cancer Research and Molecular Cancer Therapeutics supplements) and ESMO (Annals of Oncology, ESMO Open and ESMO Immuno-Oncology and Technology supplements, plus the 2015 European Cancer Congress, held jointly with ECCO, in the European Journal of Cancer), only the abstracts about a radiopharmaceutical or nuclear imaging. ESMO abstracts and the ASCO 2015, 2016 and 2018 annual meetings are screened on their titles, because their abstract text is not openly available. Behind paywalls and missing: EANM 2015, 2018 and 2019, ASNC 2015 to 2020 and 2023, WMIC 2017, 2018, 2023 and 2024.
  • Patents: Google Patents, which indexes over 100 patent offices and gives English titles for most non-English filings.
  • Tags come from word rules, not reading: an idea says what the data counts, and the evidence list is there to check it. Last rebuilt 2026-10-02.
