Overview
ASNC describes itself as "the international home for nuclear cardiology and the only professional society devoted exclusively to the field", and dates its work to 1993. Its remit is the cardiac half of nuclear medicine: myocardial perfusion imaging with SPECT and PET, transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis imaging, cardiac sarcoidosis, and sympathetic innervation imaging - the clinical questions behind technetium-99m sestamibi, rubidium-82, nitrogen-13 ammonia, fluorine-18 flurpiridaz, technetium-99m pyrophosphate and iodine-123 MIBG.
Two outputs matter to this corpus. First, the appropriate use criteria and imaging guidelines ASNC issues with SNMMI and the ACC, which govern tracer choice and interpretation in US practice. Second, the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology (id: journal-of-nuclear-cardiology), its official journal, published by Elsevier: the Annual Scientific Session abstracts are deposited there each year, and because they carry no supplement label, Nuclide's congress harvest finds them by date window instead (scripts/fetch-abstracts.ts). The 2026 Annual Scientific Session ran 16 to 19 September in Las Vegas.
