DuChemBio
Korea's biggest maker of diagnostic PET tracers, now building the country's first plant for radioactive cancer therapies.
Overview
DuChemBio makes the routine diagnostic tracers Korean hospitals run on: fluorodeoxyglucose F-18, FP-CIT for Parkinsonian syndromes, and the amyloid PET agents it manufactures under licence for foreign owners, including Neuraceq for Life Molecular Imaging. It was established in November 2002 (as Medicboss) and renamed in December 2007, listed on KONEX in 2014 under code 176750, and moved to KOSDAQ after receiving preliminary approval in November 2024.
Its second business is contract manufacturing, and that is where the therapy side enters: it signed an exclusive licensing and development agreement with Germany's ITM for the lutetium-177 edotreotide therapy in South Korea. In September 2026 it signed a KRW 34.3 billion investment agreement with North Jeolla Province and Jeongeup City to build what Korean reporting describes as the country's first radiopharmaceutical therapy CDMO plant, with commercial production targeted for the second half of 2029. The company's own drug pipeline is diagnostic; the therapy exposure is manufacturing and licences.
