Clinical Nuclear Medicine
A monthly US medical journal for doctors who use radioactive scans and treatments in everyday patient care.
Overview
Clinical Nuclear Medicine has been published since its first issue in June 1976, making it almost exactly contemporaneous with the first human FDG-PET images acquired that same year. It is a monthly journal from Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (Wolters Kluwer) aimed squarely at clinical practice: diagnostic interpretation, new tracers and imaging techniques, case-based teaching material, and correlation of nuclear medicine findings with other imaging modalities.
It sits alongside more basic-science-oriented titles such as the Journal of Nuclear Medicine and EJNMMI as one of the main clinical-practice venues in the field, and is frequently cited for case reports and imaging pearls involving PSMA PET, DOTATATE PET and other radiopharmaceutical-based studies that do not fit the format of a full clinical trial report.
According to Wolters Kluwer's own journal page, its 2024 Journal Citation Reports impact factor was 9.6.
