China Isotope & Radiation Corporation
China's state-backed isotope and nuclear medicine group: it makes the radioactive material and the medicines that use it.
Overview
CIRC describes itself in its 2025 annual report as "a leading enterprise in isotope and irradiation application in China", founded in 1983 and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange main board on 6 July 2018 under stock code 1763. It is a controlling subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), the state nuclear group; in August 2025 a 33.79 per cent block held by China Baoyuan was transferred to CNNC without consideration, concentrating state control further. Revenue for 2025 was RMB 7,187.7 million, down 5.1 per cent year on year.
Its business spans the chain rather than one product: nuclides, nuclear medicines, nuclear-medicine departments and equipment, irradiation services and radiation sources. The 2025 report records the launch of terbium-161 with exclusive agency rights - an isotope still experimental in the West - and its subsidiary HTA (id: hta-atom-hi-tech) achieved domestic large-scale germanium-68 production in February 2026. For Nuclide the group matters as the supply-side answer to why Chinese radioligand programmes can scale without Western isotope imports.
