AHOD2131 (COG / NCTN)
Asks whether early-stage Hodgkin lymphoma in children and adults can be treated with immunotherapy instead of some chemotherapy and radiation.
Overview
AHOD2131, trial NCT05675410 run by the Children's Oncology Group and the NCI, asks whether early-stage classical Hodgkin lymphoma in children and adults aged 5 to 60 can be treated with brentuximab vedotin plus nivolumab in a response-adapted design, instead of some chemotherapy and radiation. It uses PET after two cycles to steer therapy, has progression-free survival as its primary endpoint, measures late effects, and is ongoing with no results yet. Nuclide links it to Hodgkin lymphoma, PET-adapted therapy, brentuximab vedotin, nivolumab, the Children's Oncology Group, Kara M. Kelly, the idea of chemotherapy-free early-stage Hodgkin treatment and the S1826 paper. Whether immunotherapy can spare young patients the late effects of chemotherapy and radiation without losing cures is the question it exists to answer.
