Primary aldosteronism

aka PA, primary hyperaldosteronism, hyperaldosteronism

Primary aldosteronism is a hormonal condition in which one or both adrenal glands make too much of a hormone that raises blood pressure. It is a common but badly under-diagnosed cause of hypertension, usually flagged by a blood test, and curable with surgery when only one gland is overactive.
