## TL;DR

A nuclear medicine physician who helped write the eligibility scans used to select prostate cancer patients for the VISION trial of lutetium-177 PSMA-617, and who also sets national standards for brain PET scans used in Alzheimer's disease.

## Summary

Phillip Kuo spent a decade as Chief of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Arizona before moving in 2024 to City of Hope Cancer Center in Duarte, California, where he is Division Chief of Nuclear Medicine and Director of Theranostics. He co-authored the explanation of the PSMA PET/CT selection criteria used in the pivotal VISION trial of 177Lu-PSMA-617, and has contributed to SNMMI appropriate-use-criteria panels for both PSMA PET and 177Lu-PSMA-617 radioligand therapy.

He also works in neurodegeneration imaging, serving on the Alzheimer's Association/SNMMI workgroup that issues updated appropriate use criteria for amyloid and tau PET, and as a co-author of the SNMMI/EANM procedure standard for brain FDG PET. This dual focus on prostate cancer theranostics and dementia imaging makes him one of relatively few nuclear medicine leaders bridging oncologic and neurologic molecular imaging standards.
