## Summary

Michael Lassmann has worked as a medical physics expert in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at University Hospital Würzburg since 1988, was appointed head of the department's physics section in 1994, and holds a full professorship on the university's medical faculty. Between 2001 and 2008 he chaired the EANM Dosimetry Committee and continues to serve as a senior advisor to it; in 2017 he received the SNMMI Loevinger-Berman Award, nuclear medicine's leading dosimetry prize.

His research spans internal dosimetry for peptide receptor radionuclide therapy and radioiodine therapy, bone-marrow dosimetry methods, and biodosimetry for radiation protection. He is a co-author of the EANM/SNMMI joint procedure guideline for 177Lu-labelled PSMA-targeted radioligand therapy and of the PSMA-I&T theranostic first-in-human studies, and has continued this line of work through his successor Johannes Tran-Gia's Heisenberg professorship in multimodal imaging and theranostics at Würzburg.
