## TL;DR

A Michigan company that builds compact superconducting particle accelerators and uses them to make radioactive materials for both diagnostic scans and cancer therapies, including two rare isotopes, actinium-225 and astatine-211.

## Summary

IONETIX Corporation is a cyclotron technology and radioisotope manufacturing company founded in 2009, spun from accelerator physics developed at the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center. Its patented compact superconducting cyclotron, the ION-12SC, was originally built to produce N-13 ammonia (a cardiac PET perfusion tracer) close to the point of care under a pay-per-dose model, and IONETIX has since built a network of such cyclotrons at or near PET programmes, also producing F-18 and Ga-68 diagnostic tracers.

More recently IONETIX has moved into cyclotron-based alpha-emitter production at a dedicated Alpha Isotope Manufacturing facility in Lansing, Michigan, the first commercial facility built exclusively for alpha-emitting radionuclides. It announced first production of actinium-225 (Ac-225) there in June 2024, describes itself as releasing GMP-grade Ac-225 to customers from late 2024, and began routine shipment of astatine-211 (At-211) in the US in September 2026, produced by irradiating bismuth-209 targets on a 30 MeV cyclotron; it states it is the first non-academic commercial US supplier of At-211. A second Ac-225 cyclotron with dual target stations, intended to allow continuous production scaling to more than 1 curie of Ac-225 per week, began construction in October 2024.

IONETIX raised over $30 million in a 2026 private placement alongside a reverse-merger transaction with JDEV Acquisition Corp that took the company public, with funds earmarked for scaling isotope production and further developing its accelerator technology for medical, materials-testing and nuclear-energy applications. Its supply chain role sits alongside other emerging cyclotron-based alpha-emitter producers, competing on the specific bottleneck of actinium-225 and astatine-211 availability for targeted alpha therapy developers.
