## TL;DR

A Stanford-trained nuclear medicine doctor who leads the theranostics programme at Oregon Health & Science University and treats neuroendocrine tumour patients with radioactive peptide therapy.

## Summary

Erik Mittra trained through the MD/PhD programme at Stony Brook University and completed nuclear medicine residency and PET/CT fellowship at Stanford, where he was faculty for eight years before joining Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in 2018. He is now Chief of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and Director of Radiopharmaceutical Therapeutics at OHSU, running its multidisciplinary neuroendocrine tumour treatment programme.

His research focuses on peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) with 177Lu-DOTATATE, including as a co-author on the substudy dosimetry analysis of the pivotal NETTER-1 trial, and on 90Y radioembolisation dosimetry using fused MAA-SPECT imaging. He has published extensively on FDG and NaF PET applications in oncology dating back to his Stanford years.
